It’s almost that time again…. The holidays are near. For me the holidays are often busy and expensive therefore I plan ahead to make it as stress-free as possible. Here are a few tricks and tips to make this your best holiday season yet!

Thanksgiving

I start shopping for non-perishable items for my sides dishes such as green beans and stuffing as soon as October comes so if see any coupons and sale prices I will stock up also often time cashback apps like ibotta that have grocery rebates available.

I make my Thanksgiving dinner like a potluck so I am not stuck preparing everything. I  will make all the sides and have my mom bring the turkey she often gets a free turkey from work so that works out great. Then I have her or if there are additional family or friends coming I have them bring the desserts or apps.

Are you in a time crunch or want to avoid the grocery try a grocery delivery service like  Peapod. Check to see if Peapod is in your area here. If this is your 1st time using peapod you will receive $20 off your 1st order.

Christmas

I start shopping early on by early I mean after Labor day I am asking everyone to start thinking of gift ideas then I slowly start shopping when things are on sale and great cashback options sites like BeFrugalEbates, and TopCashBack . On top of cash back, I am a member of price match guarantee sites like earny that will monitor your purchases to ensure you have paid the lowest price for your online purchase. Many credit cards offer this service but you have to monitor and submit the request to them.

Another thing I like to do to take an envelope and set aside $20-40 each week to save for any cash gifts I give. By Black Friday I am usually 75% done shopping and will often take the day for relaxation or just do any last minute shopping for any unbelievable sales.

New years

For me on New Years I don’t like to cook I will usually have an early dinner out then stay in have a few drinks at home with the family. I will often make reservations after Thanksgiving for the selected restaurant. last year I didn’t do anything fancy I just went to Uno’s at our local Premium outlet center and did some shopping and had a decent dinner. Dinner was really affordable I had purchased a discount UNO’s gift card on and then because I am part of the UNO’s insiders club I received a 25% off my entire bill.

Remember the true meaning behind the holidays and just try to enjoy it. For me, I am just happy spending time with the ones I love and everything else is just extra. Do you have any money or time-saving tips you would like to share?

Happy Holidays everyone!
