Why go Organic?

USDA Organic

We all see and hear about Organic items on the market but do you ever wonder why should I use organic products? Well I did. When I was pregnant I read several books to educate myself on why I should go organic and why my baby should go organic too. It’s amazing how many toxic chemicals are in the things we eat and put on our skin.

Organic certification is the public’s assurance that products have been grown and handled according to strict procedures without persistent toxic chemical inputs. When purchasing organic always look for the USDA Organic seal if living in the USA. Reasons to go Organic include but are not limited to:

Food

  • On average, organic food contains higher levels of vitamin C and essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and chromium as well as cancer-fighting antioxidants.
  • Conventional food can causes metabolic damage, infertility, obesity, learning disabilities, and birth defects due to the toxins, GMO (genetically modified organism), and pesticides.
  • After slaughter, factory-farmed chickens are washed in chlorine baths that contain 30x more chlorine than an average swimming pool. To mask the chlorine odor  according to chicken producers, to keep the bird moist while cooking, the chickens are then injected with a solution of water and phosphate, a chemical that can increase the risk of chronic kidney disease, weak bones, and even premature aging.

Skin care

Your skin absorbs up to 64% of what you place on it.

Products made with toxins and chemicals actually cause extreme destruction to the planet.

Natural and organic products are designed to work with the body’s natural systems, enhancing them, not masking them. The products use ingredients that are of nutritional value, that actually support the skin’s process of repairing, rejuvenating and refining itself. This allows you to use these types of products with confidence for long periods of time without worry of such problems as reactive acne, clogged pores or creating a hyper sensitive skin condition.”

What do you think about living an “organic lifestyle”? Many people think it’s a posh or snobbish thing to follow but it’s not and organic products are becoming more affordable and the product offerings have increased. I think consumers are becoming more and more aware of what we are eating, wearing, and how we are treating our environment.
