We all come in different shapes and sizes that make us unique. Body types have different characteristics, and you should tailor your workout to maximize your results according to your body type. There are three major body types most people fall into. Endomorphs are more likely to store more fat than the other body types and are sometimes called pear- or apple-shaped. Ectomorphs are most likely to be thin, long-limbed and have difficulty putting on fat and muscle. Mesomorphs have athletic builds, characterized by high muscle mass and little fat.
- Endomorphs who usually carry extra fat around the lower abdomen, hips and thighs. Endos have a harder time than other body types in losing fat. I think this is where is fall into. The key for weight loss is doing exercises that burns calories instead of a lot of strength training, so stick to cardio. As you become closer to your body type you can start adding strength training to become more toned and defined.
- Ectomorphs usually don’t have to worry about weight loss, but exercising is always important for any body type. The goal for this thin body type is to gain tone or muscle mass.
- Mesomorph are going to have an easier time putting on muscle mass. yoga and Pilates because it provides muscular conditioning in a routine less likely to create a bulky look.
The key to taking the bad with the good and finding happiness with your body type is by balancing all aspects of your life. Your first concern is your health and maintaining a healthy body weight. Excessive amounts of body fat can place you in jeopardy of cardiovascular disease
